In my year-long program to become a certified life coach, they taught us to ask for “wins.”
At the beginning of a coaching session, we were taught to ask the client what were the wins from our last session together.
That way, between sessions, the client is on assignment to look for positive things that happened in order to report them back to the coach.
Then it becomes a habit to look for the good in life.
If you pride yourself on being a good “fixer”, even though you think you’re doing something positive in correcting something or solving a problem, you might be zeroing in on all the negative aspects in order to do so.
That’s making yourself right or having a self-fulfilling prophecy, because for you to be the hero, you have to see or create situations that need to be “saved”.
You could be comfortable in this cycle, or you can decide that you want to see more of the positive sides of things.
Instead of looking for what needs to be fixed, make a choice in looking for which you are grateful.
You don’t control every event that occurs in your life, but you control how you perceive it. You control what you focus on. You control what you consider a “win”.
If you or you know anybody who is struggling for more wins, anxiety, restlessness, or going through a life transition and looking for clarity, serenity, more confidence, support, or a partner in accountability, please message me for coaching options.
And thank you to those who submitted answers to the survey I sent out. It helps me provide content, programs, workshops, and coaching that help you shine.
Now, be on alert for your wins!
Good stuff, Stacy. Love your thought provoking topics.
